The Queensland Government is proud to present the Ideas Festival - four days of ideas, innovation and invention, from 29 March - 2 April 2006 at Brisbane's South Bank.
The Queensland Government's Ideas Festival is part of our strategy to firm Queensland's position as Australia's smart state. The Queensland Government's Smart State Policy reflects a commitment to the development of an environment where ideas, innovation and active citizenship are valued and promoted. The 2006 Ideas Festival complements and is informed by major policy and practice issues and directions from both government and non-government agencies. The Queensland Government is committed to building a society which fosters knowledge, creativity and innovation.
The Ideas Festival is an open public event, drawing new audiences into the celebration, discussion and debate of ideas and innovation. It is proudly presented by the Queensland Government. In 2006, the Festival will program across the broadest range of topics and ideas including science, health, law, justice, education, family, urban management, environment, risk, communication, grief, housing, icons, economics, work and sustainability.
Ideas is a public festival, open to all and mostly free.
