The Premier's Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of work units and teams within the Queensland public sector who continue to strive for excellence, best practice management and improvements in services and public sector management.
The awards program promotes standards of excellence, innovation and sustainability within the Queensland public sector, and encourages continuous improvements in services and public sector management.
The Premier's Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management continue to showcase and highlight the significant contribution made by the Queensland public sector to the wider Queensland community.
The awards recognise excellence across eight award categories:

- Engaging and serving communities
- Focusing on our people
- Growing Queensland's economy
- Innovation and creativity
- Leadership excellence
- Partnerships and reconciliation
- Sustainable environment
An overall Premier's Award for Excellence will also be awarded to an agency that demonstrates outstanding achievement and significant commitment across a range of areas. The recipient will be determined from all nominations received across all categories.
