Organisations such as schools, recognised youth organisations; community service groups; benevolent and welfare organisations; sporting clubs and bodies; and local government and semi-government authorities are eligible to receive Queensland Flags free-of-charge.
All requests for Queensland Flags are submitted through the local State Member of Parliament who then makes a recommendation to Protocol Queensland. Flags are then provided to the MP for presentation to the organisation.
