Glossary

Some common definitions and abbreviations used throughout the Handbook are:

DPC. Department of the Premier and Cabinet.

FBT. Fringe Benefits Tax.

GST. Goods and Services Tax. All prices in this handbook are GST inclusive where applicable.

HRM. Human Resource Management

Members' Handbook. The Members' Entitlements Handbook.

Minister. Minister includes a Parliamentary Secretary, except where the context does not permit.

Office(s). See Office of the Minister.

Office of the Minister. The Office of the Minister consists of the Minister and all Ministerial staff whether employed on a contract or consulting basis, who directly support the Minister in carrying out their functions as a Minister of the Crown. Where appropriate, the Office of the Minister includes the partner of the Minister.

Parliament House Environs. Parliament House environs will include Parliament House, the Parliamentary Annex and Electorate offices provided as a normal entitlement to Members of the Legislative Assembly.
