Alex Beavers was appointed to this position in March 2007. In this role, Alex leads the Queensland Government's policy coordination processes and manages policy advice to the Premier.

Previous to this appointment, Alex was Assistant Under Treasurer in Queensland Treasury with responsibility for State fiscal policy and financial management. Alex held various roles in Queensland Treasury over the past 15 years.
